Before You Travel - Travel Documents

  • Tourist visas must be obtained online before travel.

  • Our UK partners can guide you through the process.

  • It is your responsibility to ensure all documents are correct before leaving the UK.

  • Having everything prepared in advance reduces stress on arrival.

  • Adequate full travel insurance must be in place before you travel for all members of your party.

🎫

Planning & Predictability

  • We can provide a clear daily schedule before you travel.

  • We can adapt the pace, timing, and structure to suit your needs.

  • If you prefer fewer transitions, quieter environments, or shorter days, we will design your itinerary accordingly.

Sensory Considerations

Heat

  1. Egypt is extremely hot, even in winter.

  2. Our tours run October–April when temperatures are more manageable.

  3. We can plan shaded rest stops, indoor breaks, and cooler times of day for sightseeing.

Crowds & Noise

  1. Some sites can be busy and noisy.

  2. We use insider timings to avoid peak crowds wherever possible.

  3. If you prefer quieter spaces, we can include calmer sites, gardens, museums, and offthebeatentrack locations.

Smells, Sounds & Textures

Egypt is a sensoryrich environment. You may encounter:

  1. incense

  2. market smells

  3. uneven ground

  4. sand and dust

  5. loud voices or music

We will always prepare you in advance and adjust the environment where possible.

Movement, Mobility & Comfort

  • Many ancient sites have uneven floors, steps, or sloping pathways.

  • We can choose routes with fewer obstacles or provide alternatives.

  • Frequent rest breaks can be built into every day.

  • If you need extra time, we simply take it, there is no rush.

Communication & Support

  • Our guides are patient, calm, and experienced with SEND travellers.

  • They explain what will happen next, what to expect, and how long things will take.

  • If you prefer minimal talking, more talking, or very clear instructions, just tell us.

  • We can use visual schedules, written notes, or stepbystep explanations.

Food & Eating

Egyptian food is delicious but may be unfamiliar.

We can help you find:

  • simple foods

  • mild flavours

  • familiar options

  • quiet places to eat

If you have ARFID or sensorybased eating needs, we will support you without judgement.

Tickets & Queues

  • All sightseeing tickets are paid by card only.

  • Your tours do not include entrance tickets.

  • At the Egyptian Museum, queues can be long and confusing, so we strongly recommend buying your tickets online before you arrive.

  • We can help you choose the correct tickets (avoid “Egyptian nationals only”).

If queues are difficult for you, we will plan timings to minimise waiting.

People & Social Interaction

Egyptians are warm, friendly, and curious. You may experience:

  • people waving

  • people wanting to talk

  • people offering help

  • children approaching you

This is normal and meant kindly. If social interaction is difficult or overwhelming, your guide will gently manage this for you.

.📷

Photography & Attention

  • Some people may ask for a tip if photographed.

  • Some areas do not allow photography.

  • Your guide will handle all of this so you don’t need to worry.

.📷

Transport & Transitions

  • We can minimise the number of daily transitions if needed.

  • Private vehicles allow quiet, calm travel.

  • If you prefer routine, we can keep the same driver and guide throughout.

— Emotional Safety & Reassurance —

You are never rushed, never pressured, and always supported.

We understand that new places, new people, heat, noise, and unpredictability can all feel overwhelming.

We Understand

  • New places can feel overwhelming

  • New people take adjustment

  • Heat and noise add pressure

  • Unpredictability is genuinely hard

So We Will

  • Prepare you in advance

  • Explain what is happening

  • Slow the pace

  • Create calm moments

  • Adjust instantly if something becomes too much
